A Summer Camp Experience Like No Other.

Rising seventh graders through graduated seniors will gather from across the state of South Carolina for an incredible week of fun, games, friendship, powerful worship, and practical Bible teaching. Join students from every NewSpring campus as we learn how to grow in friendship with God together.

Worship

We believe that worship invites the presence of God, and we can’t wait to encounter God as we worship together.

Teaching

Each session is led by pastors and teachers who are passionate about sharing God’s Word and discipling a generation into a lifetime of following Jesus.

Small Groups

Students will spend time forming lifelong and encouraging friendships in small groups and larger community groups.

Fun

Every student at Gauntlet will be part of high-energy team competitions, engaging activities, and daily free time.

Thank You For Giving to Gauntlet

Gauntlet would not be possible without the generous support of our NewSpring family. In fact, the cost of every single student ticket is discounted – even those who pay full price. We supplement the cost of youth camp every year because we believe in the next generation, and we want to provide them a space to encounter God in a unique way each summer.

In order to see the vision of Gauntlet become a reality for 2,000 students this year, we needed to raise $1 million by June 2. Because of your generosity, we were able to meet that goal on Friday, May 3. Thank you so much for helping us bring this incredible week to life. We know God will do amazing things, and we can't wait to tell you about them!

If you'd like to continue your support for what God is doing in and through NewSpring across the state of South Carolina, you can give below.

Serve at Gauntlet

Not only is Gauntlet a life-changing week for students, but it’s also a faith-building week for volunteers! Our Group Leaders and Support Volunteers are essential to creating a safe and fun Gauntlet experience students love year after year. If you're interested in serving at Gauntlet as a Group Leader, apply below.

Lead a Group

We’re currently focusing on filling group leader roles, but if you’re interested in being a Support Volunteer, you can email gauntlet@newspring.cc or talk to your local Fuse staff.

Pray for Gauntlet

Prayer is one of our most powerful tools as we prepare for and send students to Gauntlet. Would you partner with us in praying for students, leaders, and volunteers this year? We know that God wants to meet with each and every student at Gauntlet, and we can’t wait to ask Him to do what only He can do in their lives.

We would love for you to join us in praying hour by hour during our summer camp! To stay up to date with Gauntlet and to be a part of praying for our students and leaders, sign up below — we’ll send you prayer prompts along the way!

Abba Father, may every student at the Gauntlet know and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! Bless each student with the full assurance of their salvation!

John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Abba Father, may every student and volunteer hear Your voice for themselves and be drawn into a supernatural, everyday, and lifelong friendship with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit! Fill every student and volunteer fresh with your Holy Spirit!

1 Samuel 3:10 And the Lord came and stood, calling as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant hears.”

John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Abba Father, may every student walk away from Gauntlet with a set of lifelong friends. Let true brotherhood and sisterhood emerge for every student. Grant grace for friendship with Christ and others!

John 15:12-13 This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Abba Father, may every student have the best week of their lives at Gauntlet! Let the joy of the Holy Spirit flood the atmosphere of every session, activity, mealtime, and room.

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Abba Father, surround every student and volunteer with your continual protection and peace - physically, emotionally and spiritually! Surround them with favor like a shield through every hour of camp.

Psalm 91:9-10 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge — no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.

For Parents

As we get closer to Gauntlet, every campus will hold parent meetings. These meetings are designed to answer all your questions and equip you with everything you and your student(s) need to know to have a great week. We encourage all parents/guardians to make all efforts to attend the scheduled parent meeting.

We’ll cover everything from what to pack to where to park – you don’t want to miss this meeting. Plus, it's a great chance to connect with the Fuse staff from your campus, who will be hanging out with your students in Clemson all week long at Gauntlet. If you are unable to attend, please contact your local Fuse staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clemson, South Carolina

June 24-28, 2024

Students will stay in Clemson University dorm rooms with one other Fuse student. Leaders will be in their own rooms in the same dorms.

Students will eat all meals in the dining hall at Clemson University. They offer a wide variety of foods to accommodate any preferences or allergies your student has.

Imagine all 13 NewSpring campuses meeting together in one building. Then, throw in some epic games, new friends, and a week of memories. Practically, Gauntlet will consist of sessions with Bible teaching, powerful worship, small group time, activities, good food, and fun. We will have a 4-to-1 student-to-leader ratio because we care about students and want every student to have a fun and safe week.

Early Bird student pricing is $429 and will be available until March 6, so register quickly! Full-price tickets are $450 and will be available from March 7 to April 14. Registering more than one student? This year, we are offering a multi-student discount to 2+ students registered within the same family/household. Tickets cover students’ transportation, rooms, meals, resources, and all Gauntlet activities. If your student wants to purchase snacks or a souvenir from the Gauntlet Store, they’ll need some extra spending money.

Group Leader and Support Volunteer tickets are $100. Tickets cover volunteers’ transportation, rooms, meals, resources, and all Gauntlet activities. If you want to purchase snacks or a souvenir from the Gauntlet store, you’ll need some extra spending money.

Whatever the barrier, we’d love to talk about it and see if we can help. To apply for financial assistance, please fill out this form, and a campus staff member will be in touch!

No. After signing up for Gauntlet, your ticket is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you have any questions, please email gauntlet@newspring.cc.

Yes. Campus Safety travels to Gauntlet to ensure students' safety. We assign one volunteer leader to every four students. This leader has been background checked, interviewed, and trained. Your student's group leader will be with your student at all times.

Group Leaders serve the entire week of Gauntlet, June 24 -28. As a Group Leader, you will travel to and from Gauntlet with your campus, stay in dorms with students, eat in the dining hall with students, and engage in everyday activities with your group. Your primary role during this week will be to shepherd and care for the students in your group by leading group discussions, participating in worship, and leading the way in fun and energy. Group leaders must also feel confident in meeting the physical demands of the week (weather elements, hilly terrain, long-serving hours).

Gauntlet is only possible because we have incredible volunteers! You can apply here and begin the process.

All support volunteers will serve the entire week of Gauntlet (beginning the afternoon of Sunday, June 23, through the completion on Friday, June 28). They will stay in assigned Clemson University dormitory housing, eat meals in the campus dining halls, and feel confident in meeting the physical demands of the week (weather elements, hilly terrain, long-serving hours). Support Volunteers could serve in the following positions: Hospitality (Volunteer Headquarters, Dining), Fuse Zone, Got Questions?, Ministry Team, Creative, Communication, Gauntlet Store, Busing Team, Dorms, Entertainment Team (Free Time, Block Parties), Event Support (Environments, Facilities, Trash, etc.).

Yes! Students who graduate high school in May 2024 can attend Gauntlet as seniors.

Not yet. To come to Gauntlet, students must have completed sixth grade. But we can’t wait to see you at Fuse in the summer!

We have an emergency phone line parents can call to contact their students. You will learn more about this at the parent meeting!

Our special needs ministry follows the same schedule as everyone who attends Gauntlet. The only difference is we have the flexibility and accommodations to meet our students' needs. Or, it might mean using a student guide designed for special needs during small group and quiet time.

In most cases, we have a 1-to-1 volunteer to student ratio. Depending on students' ages and needs, we sometimes place one volunteer with two students.

See you at Gauntlet
