NewSpring internships involve more than getting coffee and sitting in meetings. NewSpring internships exist to build the person building the kingdom.

What to Expect

At NewSpring, you’ll find meaningful hands-on experience and a mentor who is invested in shepherding you along your journey. You’ll read books, make presentations, and take part in assignments designed to stretch you. 

Interns also serve an average of 25 hours a week for one, two, or three semesters. Internship length varies based on the area of ministry.

Where will my internship be?

It depends on the role. Each internship is for a specific role at one of 13 campuses in South Carolina. Be sure to note the location when you submit your application.

Which ministry areas have internships available?

Internship opportunities and locations vary from semester to semester. The internship application will display the ministry areas and locations available for that semester. Internships become available when there is a willing, intentional mentor and meaningful, kingdom-building assignments for an intern to steward.

Will I get paid?

This is an unpaid, educational internship program. However, a stipend of $300 per week will be provided to help offset any expenses you may incur as a part of the internship program.

What does a typical week look like?

Not much in ministry is typical, and your schedule will depend on the location and position you apply for. Aside from a standing weekly meeting, you can expect your participation in the internship to take about 25 hours a week, including Sundays. Your mentor will work with you to ensure the best use of your time and schedule.

Who is eligible to apply?

Internships are open to any young adult who has graduated high school in the past two to 10 years and is passionate about making ministry their full-time career. The only prerequisite is a hunger to keep learning.

Will I get a job after my internship?

Internships should equip you for your future, wherever that may be. The win for every intern is an intentional season of growth — not a job at NewSpring.
